Distribution Post- Lady Bird

Lady Bird is similar to A Not So Merry Christmas due to its comedic genre, albeit a little more centered around drama. A24 and IAC Films are the production companies to Lady Bird. The film was premiered at the Telluride Film Festival on September 1, 2017, and viewed at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 8, at which the film was finally released. It was also screened at the New York Film Festival on October 8, 2017. A24 partnered with IAC released the film domestically through the United States as of November 10, 2017, while Focus Features acquired international distribution rights. Lady Bird was released in Canada on November 17. By November 24, the film was released to 724 theaters and expanded to 1,194 theaters by the next week. Lady Bird was published for streaming on YouTube on October 30, 2017 for $3.99. It was available for digital download on Amazon and iTunes on February 13, 2018. Distribution Post- The Interview

The Interview is similar to our movie in which it is a comedy, but it also contains more elements of the action genre. The Interview was first released on December 11, 2014 in Los Angeles. The film revolves around two journalists attempting an assassination on Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea. Seth Rogen and James Franco cancelled publicity appearances after facing threats from hackers on December 16. Sony Pictures, the film's distributor, pulled all advertising on television. Sony cancelled the New York City premiere the day, in addition to having theater chains such as AMC, Cinemark, Cineplex, Regal and Southern Theatres delaying or cancelling screenings. Sony eventually cancelled the wide release of the film, as a result  receiving pressure and criticism from the public as a result. When a film is first created, a studio or independent investor purchases the rights of the film. After people are brought together to complete the film, the finished film is sent to the studio. The typical film distribution process involves the film studio making a license agreement with a distribution company. Some studios have their own distribution companies, and there are also independent distributors that find films made outside of major studios. S ome studios hire sales agents to find a distributor. The typical process for filmmakers to find a film distributor is through film festivals. At film markets, which can be found within film festivals, negotiations take place between producers and distributors. Office Christmas Party is similar to our film in regards to the holiday theme and its comedic genre. Although this movie appears to be more vulgar in concept compared to our film, Office Christmas Party provides effective marketing techniques to attract a similar audience. -Posters: Office Christmas Party utilizes a variety of posters to attract viewers. They help portray the chaotic, ridiculous, and humorous aspects of hosting an over-the-top Christmas party in an office. Character posters showed off different members of the cast, with their name highlighted in green. Many of them include well-known actors. Zoolander 2 is similar in target audience to our film in which it is a comedy aimed at PG-13 audiences.   -Publicity:   The film's marketing campaign started with the Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson playing male models Zoolander and Hansel walking in Valentino's fall 2015  show.n  advertisement produced by Testa and Partners,  described as a "mini-movie,"   was shown during the Golden Globes and featured Zoolander as the new face of Fiat’s ‘Blue Steel’.   -Posters   Several posters also incorporate Zoolander 2 to create a parody fragrance ad for a perfume they called No. 2. Ben Stiller ’s   Instagram  feed  posted  composite images   where  a one large image  is split into  several  posts . Target Audience Research- Night School

Night School is  similar to  our film in which it is a comedy aimed at audiences watching PG-13 related movies. It is the highest grossing comedy of 2018, with a domestic box office of $77,339,130.  The poster helps establish the setting of the film and portrays two well-known stars, Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish, with simply their names and the movie title found on the poster. After releasing the trailer, Kevin Hart shared a personal story of his long-time friendship with Tiffany Haddish, which he also told on TV later on in the campaign. Tiffany Haddish also appeared during Paramount’s CinemaCon presentation to promote the film to exhibitors. . The movie was also part of the CineEurope presentation from the studio. The education level is targeted to high school students or adults who have had a high school education.
