Target Audience Research- Night School

Night School is similar to our film in which it is a comedy aimed at audiences watching PG-13 related movies. It is the highest grossing comedy of 2018, with a domestic box office of $77,339,130.

The poster helps establish the setting of the film and portrays two well-known stars, Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish, with simply their names and the movie title found on the poster.

After releasing the trailer, Kevin Hart shared a personal story of his long-time friendship with Tiffany Haddish, which he also told on TV later on in the campaign. Tiffany Haddish also appeared during Paramount’s CinemaCon presentation to promote the film to exhibitors.. The movie was also part of the CineEurope presentation from the studio.

Another feature was shown to explain how Hart came up with the idea for "Night School
and assembled the cast and crew to bring it into reality.

Television advertising included a spot aired during the NBA Finals that showed a couple players talking to Hart while he experienced a nightmare about not being prepared for a test. Social advertising was also featured with posts that used both brief clips and the film's trailer.

Both Tiffany Haddish and Kevin Hart appeared at the MTV Video Music Awards to excite the audience for the upcoming film. Night School was also slated as the opening night film at the recent Urbanworld Film Festival, with Haddish, Hart and director Malcolm D. Lee attending.

The director and the film crew also appeared in a featurette released on September 17th in where they discussed the story, the characters and their experiences during the production of the film

In addition, in a publicity stunt, Universal Studios put Hart on a New York City open-air bus to get people's attention that the movie was coming out.

The second shot is a mid-shot of the Board of the North Pole at the end of the conference table, with the President of the Board and Elf #2 waiting for Elf #1 to sit in his empty seat. This tries to create an effect of seriousness and urgency to the situation of Santa Claus being fired. The third shot is an insert of a "Missing Rudolph" poster. This shot signifies the importance of Santa Claus's faults, as seen by losing his most important reindeer. The fourth shot listed is a wide shot of the Easter Bunny entering the conference room and slowly walking out after listening to the commotion. My partner and I finally developed the screenplay for our film. It encompasses the idea that Santa Claus has done poorly at his job for Christmas and must be fired. The opening scene includes a board member entering a conference room. They proceed to list all the faults of Mr. Claus and eventually fire him, following with Santa's reaction of shock and confusion.
